| Job growth in the Colorado Springs area was the fastest in nearly 4 years
during January 2005. The
number of people who collected paychecks in the area increased in January by 2.6
percent from a year earlier to 246,600, according to the Colorado Labor and
Employment Department. An increase in the number of job holders indicates
a growing local economy. Builders are ramping up for this spring fling of home shoppers.
Builders are offering incentives from military discounts to furniture.
Pulte is offering through March 31, 2005 $5,000 in free furniture to their home
buyers. CreekStone Homes is offering a 2% active military discount, and
Today's Homes is offering 6 months no interest.
These builders are found in a number of the new communities that are
sprouting up around Colorado Springs.
Woodmen Hills is one such community
that includes single family housing with 2 first-class recreational centers and
Antler Creek golf course in the neighborhood. Prices range from the $160's
to $300,000.
Stetson Hills is a popular community that has been
steadily growing for the past couple of years. Stetson Hills is
east off of Austin Bluffs and runs along Powers Blvd. US
Homes is offering from $7,000 to $11,000 towards upgrades, closing costs
or off the purchase price. |
